1. What Data We Collect
When you apply for the ThrustLab open beta, we collect your name, email address, occupation, organization (if applicable), and a description of your intended use. When you use the application, we collect simulation configurations, results, and usage patterns.
2. Analytics Tools
We use the following analytics tools to understand how ThrustLab is used and to improve the product. These tools are only activated after you accept cookies via the consent banner.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Collects anonymized page view data, traffic sources, device information, and geographic region. Data is processed by Google. We use GA4's consent mode to ensure no data is collected before you accept.
- Hotjar: Records anonymized session replays and generates heatmaps to understand how users interact with the interface. Hotjar does not collect personal data from form fields.
- PostHog: Tracks specific product events (e.g., simulation created, results viewed) to help us understand feature usage and improve the product. Data is processed by PostHog Cloud (US).
3. Cookies
ThrustLab uses a cookie consent banner on your first visit. You can accept or decline analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key cookie-consent. If you decline, no analytics scripts are loaded and no tracking cookies are set.
Essential cookies (authentication tokens) are always used when you are logged in. These are necessary for the application to function and are not affected by the consent banner.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To process your beta application and communicate about access
- To provide the simulation service
- To understand usage patterns and improve the product
- To detect and prevent abuse
5. Data Retention
Your account data, projects, and simulation results are retained for as long as your account exists. Analytics data is retained according to each tool's default retention policies: GA4 (14 months), Hotjar (365 days), PostHog (per plan settings). Beta application data is retained indefinitely for record-keeping.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with the analytics providers listed above and our infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, email delivery) as necessary to operate the service.
7. Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can withdraw cookie consent by clearing your browser's localStorage and declining on your next visit.
